International Collaboration

The Danish Nurses' Organisation (DNO) has a long tradition of international collaboration and holds membership in a number of different organizations, which are listed below.

The Nordic Nurses' Federation

The Nordic Nurses' Federation (NNF) was founded in 1920 as a cooperative body for the  six Nordic Nurses' Associations. The aim was and still is to establish a forum where representatives from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Island the Faroe Islands can discuss issues of mutual concern regarding professional, political and international matters as well as organizational affairs.

European Federation of Nurses' Organisation

The European Federation of Nurses Associations (EFN) was founded in 1972 with the aim of representing the nursing profession and its interests in Europe. It represents 34 national nurses organisations across Europe and more than one million nurses

The European Federation of Public Service Unions

The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) brings together trade unions from across Europe whose members are employed in the public sector. EPSU, thus, represents around eight million public service workers and is the European region of the global public services federation PSI. Through membership of EPSU, The Danish Nurses Organisation are engaged in both exchange of good practice and influencing the European institutions and employer organisations with focus on health and social services.

European Forum of National Nursing and Midwifery Associations

The European Forum of national Nursing and Midwifery Associations (EFNNMA) is a network for nurses and midwifery associations within the European region of the World Health Organisation (WHO). The network consists of 23 national nursing and midwifery associations and serves as a link between international and national policy-makers with the aim of promoting health and health services of high quality.

Public Services International

Public Services International is an international organisation representing 669 affiliated trade unions in the public sector worldwide. PSI, thus, represents more than 20 million public sector workers.
